And all of my art workshops address at least one of four main areas....

Self

The self-focused workshops help you connect to yourself.

These workshops are designed to help you: hearing or finding your voice, using your voice, or knowing yourself.

Connecting to yourself is vital for you, and for connecting with God or other people.

God

The God-focused workshops help you to connect with God at all, or on a deeper level.

These workshops are designed to help you hear from God.

Relationships

The relationship-focused workshops help you to connect to others in your relationships, whether with a spouse or significant other, family members, friends, community, groups or work groups.

Purpose

The purpose-focused workshops help you to connect to your purpose.

These workshops are designed to help you look towards the present and to the future with knowing your purpose.

History Behind my Art Workshops

I started my adult journey painting in 2016. After I started painting, I thought I was the only one doing it in the way I discovered. My mom told me about a missionary woman who lived in the late 1800s/early 1900s who painted and wrote down what her paintings meant.  So I thought, great! I am not alone in what I am doing, the only thing is she lived a hundred years ago.

After painting by myself / with God for over a year, I attended Art Sozo training hosted by Gail Spooner at Bethel Redding Church in Redding, California.  I signed up and went, super curious what they did that was similar or different to what I already did thinking I could tweak my practice based on whatever I learned.  I had thought I could teach that workshop back in Alaska, but thought that it was similar in some ways and different than others to my existing painting practice, and thought that if I was going to help other people, I could just lead Art Sozo Workshops, and not develop my own, as what Gail had created I thought was high-quality already, so why re-invent the wheel?

Transition to 6 months later, Spring of 2018, and I was practicing the Art Sozo workshop on willing volunteers (thank you prayer group!).

At the same time as practicing, I was asked to  lead an Art Workshop at a retreat with a local group I am apart of.

A week before I was to teach the art workshop, the Retreat Director's wife mentioned that what they really wanted was for the Art Workshop to be on the same topic as the retreat: Worshipping God.

So I created one based on my morning routine, and the developing workshops based on topics I've journeyed through was born!

So I tested my Worship Art workshop, received feedback and incorporated it and created my Art business, one workshop at a time.

Testimonials...

I was able to paint the picture God has been flashing into my mind the last few years. Nice!

Seth, Grief & Loss Participant

Really neat to look back over my life and see and remember all He has done for me.

Katrina, Paint the Story Participant

This is my 2nd class. I came not really for the painting at all, but to feel the presence of Holy Spirit creativity and flow in me!

Ronda, Paint the Christmas Story Participant

I feel like He spoke to me about some familiar things in a fresh way.  Definitely feel a deeper connection.

Anonymous, Art Sozo Participant

God showed up big for me tonight and just loved on me and showing me what it is for Him to be my living water.

Tonya, Paint His Names Participant

It IS possible

I know that this is possible for you, and I’d love to show you exactly how through my creative painting practice that has changed my life and the lives of those that have taken my workshops.

So how do I know? Because I do it myself, and I have first-hand experience of how it has impacted me and my life, as well as others who have taken my workshops.

By painting in this way, I am having conversations with myself and with God.

By painting in this way, I am better equipped to connect in my relationships, to serve my family, to do what I was made to do, and to live life as God intended.

More Testimonials....

I always knew He was with me always. But it magnified.

Esther, Paint the Story Participant

This was a beautiful worship experience.... so glad it wasn't about talent.

Anonymous, Worship Art Participant

I feel like my connection with God is better.

Kyla, Paint the Christmas Story Participant

I was surprised at the depth of emotion, healing & ability to process.

Anonymous, Paint the Story Participant

Usually I'm very nervous to paint in front of anyone.  This time, my hands just started moving and color was on the paper.  I felt no judgment.  Emotions came out on the canvas and I felt God's presence.

-Anonymous, Art Sozo Participant

Helped me to slow down and remember God always has a plan that is better than mine.

You have questions, we have answers...

How are your art workshops similar to paint nights?

  1. You register in Advance
  2. It's for a set time
  3. Supplies are provided
  4. It's FUN
  5. You paint... in a group of people at the same time
  6. Create in community, socialize and/or connect with others
  7. What you paint is yours to keep

How are your art workshops different than paint nights?

  1. My workshops are typically 3 hours whereas a paint night is typically 1-2 hours in duration.
  2. You paint multiple paintings, usually at a paint night, you paint one painting
  3. What you paint is specific to you (becomes clear in workshop) and it is possible to repeat the same workshop with completely different paintings
  4. The meaning behind the painting matters in my workshops, these are NOT technical painting workshops.
  5. New ways of thinking, creating new muscles, new habits
  6. Paint in a way that can connect you with yourself, God and others on a deeper level.
  7. I was trained to teach it, or created them myself based on my own experiences and lead you through applying it to you.
  8. Food is not provided, eat before you come as food could distract you and others during the workshop, bring your own drink (non-alcoholic).
